PAS Community Garden: Cultivating Connection, Inclusion and Greening

PAS is proud to introduce our newest initiative—the PAS Community Garden. Located at our Morley office, this vibrant green space was established in late 2025 and officially opened with a blessing in early 2026 to provide a supportive environment where people with developmental disability and our community can gather, grow, and connect.

Inspired by the call to care for our community, the garden serves as an extension of our mission: fostering inclusion and stewardship through the simple, transformative act of gardening.

A Space for Everyone

The PAS Community Garden was initially built together by volunteers and supporters in October 2025.  Our garden is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Bunnings team, who donated essential materials including planters, plants, soil, and tools, as well as their own time and expertise.

Today, the PAS Community Garden is more than just plants and soil; it is a place for:

  • Inclusion: Providing a welcoming, accessible environment that complements our one-on-one friendship and advocacy programs.
  • Connection: Building social bonds between our participants, volunteers, and the wider Morley community.
  • Sustainability: Promoting ecological awareness and hands-on learning.
  • Morning Tea: A social time with coffee, tea, and snacks.

Get Involved: Join our Garden's Working Group

To ensure our garden continues to bloom, we are looking for passionate individuals, volunteer groups and community members to join our PAS Community Garden Working Group.

Currently, we hope a dedicated Garden Working Group will assist with:

  • Maintaining the garden beds on a regular basis,
  • Plan seasonal plantings events and activities,
  • Assist with rostering of other volunteers to nurture our garden,
  • Develop new ideas to ensure the space remains a beautiful sanctuary for all.

Get Involved: Donations and Partnerships

We welcome support and donations from local businesses, organisations and groups who also share our love for connection, community and wellbeing through the simple but powerful act of gardening.

Some ideas of support or donation can include:

  • Garden Materials: Soil, mulch, seeds, seedlings, and tools to maintain our garden
  • Corporate Volunteering: Join us for planting and/or maintenance days
  • A tax-deductible donation to run our community garden program
  • Sponsorship for our community garden events
  • Skill sharing: Offering professional skills to the garden management or structural design and more.

These are just some initial ideas for donations and partnerships. We welcome the opportunity to showcase our gardens and discuss potential collaborations.

Want to read more about our Community Garden?

The PAS Community Garden was born from the collective effort of our community, beginning with a volunteer “Build Day” where friends and supporters came together to lay the foundations of this project. The garden was then officially open in January 2026.
