Cultivating Connection – A Community Garden Built Together

PAS Community Garden

On 21 October 2025, the sun shone brightly over the Personal Advocacy Service Morley Office as volunteers and supporters came together for an inspiring Community Garden Build Day. The event marked the creation of a beautiful new garden space designed to bring people together, promote sustainability, and nurture a sense of belonging.

The day was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Bunnings team, who donated essential materials including planters, plants, soil, and tools, as well as their own time and expertise. Their enthusiasm and hands-on approach helped turn a simple idea into a thriving garden space that will serve the community for years to come.

Community volunteers joined in with great energy and teamwork, rolling up their sleeves to help plant, dig, and build. Together, they transformed the site into a green haven bursting with colour and life. The laughter and chatter of new friendships being formed filled the air, showing the power of community collaboration in action.

Catholic Youth Ministry supported the event by running a sausage sizzle, providing a tasty lunch and a great chance for everyone to take a break and connect.

As the morning wrapped up, there was a shared feeling of accomplishment and excitement. This garden represents more than just plants—it’s a living symbol of connection, inclusion, and hope for the future.

Everyone left tired but happy, already imagining the many ways this garden will continue to grow and bring joy to all who visit. We will have many more gardening days to come in the new year as well as an official opening event and celebration.
