We asked our community members from various group locations: “what do you get out of coming to group?” and here is what they shared with us.

Willetton Monday Group:

• MATHEW – Happiness 
• MARIA-LISA – “Spirituality. Encouragement – confidence from the advocates.” 
• DOUGLAS – “It is great. Knowledge.” 
• JOHN – “Friendship. Support.” 
• REBECCA – “Happiness.” 
• NICHOLAS – since Nicholas is non verbal his advocate has said ‘happiness’. 

Morley Wednesday Group:

• JOE – “I like seeing everyone, they are my special friends and everyone is nice.” 
• GLORIA – “Seeing Jean, she is my friend I love Jean. I like the celebration area and the song.”

Thornlie Group:

• NUALA – She likes to have cake and tea on Monday nights. 
• MICHAEL – He likes painting and colouring. (He does a really good job!) 
• DEREK – Calls PAS “Holy School”. He likes to paint and to help dry the dishes after his advocate washes them. 
• RYAN – He likes to come on Monday nights because of God’s people! He gets to do colouring, singing, praying and eating food together with God’s people! 
• VINCENT – He wants to be Santa Claus! And he now likes to sing songs along with us. 
• KRISTY – She likes to do activities and be with her friends!

Greenmount Group:

• JODIE – “The singing of songs and friendship.” 
• CORALIE – She sees her friends and it’s fun. 
• JENNIFER – “For the friendship and to help each other – the caring and the sharing.” 
• PHIL – It’s good and he likes Church. 
• DARLENE – On hearing Phil say Church, Darlene laughed and said, “yes, liked Church.”

Nollamara Group:

• STEVEN – Likes being paid attention when he comes to our sessions. Steven is very happy with one on one times with group members. 
• SILVANA – “Because it fun.” and “I like doing craft.” 
• PETER – Likes to come to do his drawings and be with his friends and he likes it when the leader comes and says “Jesus says to you tonight…..” 
• CHRIS – Likes being with the group. 
• DONNA – Likes the music and being with the group and her friend. Does not really like arts and crafts.

Floreat Group:

• JOANNE — “I love coming, I feel good and happy”. 
• JILL — “I love meeting all my Friends & ‘Toni’ (said with a Big Smile on her face and looking at Toni), doing activities, feel gooooood and look forward to coming here”. 
• KATIE — “I enjoy Craft and Praying for everyone especially the Priests & Deacons & Parishioners. I enjoy the friendship & love shared with Advocates too & Prue. I feel calm and joyful.” 
• GREG — “I think of God, Jesus and my Parents, meeting Friends and getting out at night time and enjoy supper that follows.” 
• CHRISTIAN – Mary-Ann advised – “He likes the music and is happy that he is able to play his CDs for us at Agape….he also likes playing with the toys…..”

Balcatta Group:

• DANNY – “I enjoy every group meeting and I like being involved in the Parish. I like the group and the people.” 
• CAROL – “Seeing my friends and happiness!” 
• MARGARET – “Fun things and seeing Patrizia” 
• PATRIZIA – “I love coming and look forward every time, I enjoy being with Teresa and to be all together with the group. Makes me feel safe and happy. I learn a lot about each other and it’s special when the Priest is there too. I appreciate each and everyone and thank God for the group and how happy it is to be there.” 
• RILEY – “Happy to be in a group again.”
