We invite you to put a face to the name of one of our Friends – Nick Palmer – who has been part of our community for more than two decades. Nick shares some of his favourite moments in this short interview.
How long have you been part of the PAS community?
I have been associated with PAS for more than 20 years. Leonie Reid introduced me to PAS. I was a member of the Lockridge group before joining Nollamara.
What has been your favourite memory this year from being in the Nollamara group?
Having fun and talking to each other. Craft has been good. Having a meal with the Parish Priest.
What is your favourite thing about Dance Classes?
Ballroom dancing with friends. Mixing with people with disabilities. Having lots of fun and good laughs
Do you attend the Morley Adapted Liturgy? Why do you go?
I regularly attend the Morley Adapted Liturgy. Catch up with friends from other groups, and making new friends with disabilities. Great morning teas, thanks to Sue and her helpers.
You recently attended the Community Garden Build Day, what did you do?
Volunteered to do the garden, put potting mix in the garden beds and planted seeds. Enjoyed the sausage sizzle.
Is there anything else you would like to share about being involved with PAS?
One of my best PAS memories is going to World Youth Day in Sydney in 2008. We saw the Pope. Being in the Offertory Procession and met the Cardinal.
What are you looking forward to next year at PAS?
Meeting new friends and, perhaps, being in a new group.
